BS DE GROENE EGEL, SL DE WATERBAAN, SPORTHAL GALLIFORT

The Gallifort masterplan by Areal Architecten and Atelier Arne Deruyter unfolds as a productive educational cityscape, where learning, sport, and landscape merge into a cohesive urban ecology. Situated along the Bosuil in Deurne, the project interlaces a double primary school, the Stedelijk Lyceum De Waterbaan, and a sports hall within a carefully layered composition of built form and open space. By stacking programs—from rooftop sports fields to covered playgrounds—the design creates a compact yet generous environment where light, air, and space shape the educational experience. The architecture anchors itself in context through light terracotta brickwork and green profiled cladding, balancing urban presence with tactile intimacy. More than a school campus, it acts as a microcosm of civic life, a spatial framework for learning, encounter, and collective growth, where pedagogy, sustainability, and community are interwoven into a contemporary urban landscape of education and exchange.
